Now that we were in Year 6 we had to dress as angels. We sang hymns and a man gave a talk...

At Christmas we have a carol service. The Year 6 children hold an orange in their hand, I am not quite sure why. In the orange is a candle. Round the orange is a red band, and sticking in the orange are some cocktail sticks with raisins on. This year I will be doing it. The girls all wear a white dress. We are allowed to take the oranges home afterwards. The people who are not doing the oranges sit on the floor and sing. My mum always comes to the carol service.

When the day came I was nervous, but I thought I could do it. The girls had to wear white dresses with tinsel on our heads and tinsel round our necks. We had an orange with a candle in the middle...

We had the Christingle service for Year 6 parents. It started with a recorder medley, then a hymn. After that Year 6 went to change into their Christingle outfits and get out Christingles. We walked up the middle of the hall to the steps and sing. I felt really frightened because I thought I would blow my candle out or faint, but everything was ok...

I was nervous and scared but when the Christingle started I was a bit more relaxed. When we had to go out I was OK but when we came in I felt a little stupid. When we sang 'Away in a Manger' I could see people crying, then I felt really good and noticed the service was for them, not us and I tried my best to please everybody. When it finished I felt very good...

I was very nervous when I was singing but after one song I was all right. When I walked in with my Christingle I felt great, when I started to sing my mum and dad smiled at me and said, 'Well done' to me. I was wearing a blue choirboy outfit which was very long. When I was singing 'O Come All Ye Faithful, my mum and dad started to laugh because my dad sang so loudly. When I got home I threw my orange away and lit the candle and put it in a stand...

I was really nervous, but it was really good. We were told to look up at the clock in the hall and think that in another five minutes it would be over. The good thing was that Mr Schlacter didn't get anything wrong on the piano...

On the day I was very nervous and scared. When we put our choirboy clothes on I thought I looked silly, and I thought I would drop the Christingle or blow it out, but I didn't. It was hard because we had to learn two carols off by heart...

The Christingle is very traditional. I was very nervous because I thought I was going to forget my words, but when I did it I was fine. I really enjoyed the day , a lot of my family turned up...

Year 6 dressed up as angels and choirboys. The orange represents the world, the raisins are the harvest of the world and the 4 sticks are the 4 points of the compass. The red ribbon represents the blood of Jesus and the candle is Jesus, the Light of the World. We kept our Christingle and mine went mouldy...

I was nervous because all the Year 6 parents were there. We walked into the hall...

Year 6 had to wear choir suits and come down the middle of the hall holding a candle in an orange. The orange means the world, the ribbon means Jesus' blood, the 4 cocktail sticks mean the four corners of the world and the fruit means the food we are given. After we went through the middle of the hall we went on stage and we sang some songs..

I was a little nervous on the day but I carried on. My parents were in the second row so they could see perfectly and they could make me laugh, but they didn't. When I was practising I kept getting my words wrong in 'Away in a Manger'. We were told to hold the candle away from us so we wouldn't burn ourselves. I enjoyed it...

It started with a recorder group playing a medley for ten minutes. When Year 6 were walking down to the stairs they were singing 'Away in a Manger'...

On the day I was quite nervous. I was scared I was going to forget the words of the songs. When I got the orange with a candle in it I was frightened I was going to blow it out, but I didn't. At first when we began to sing I was getting a bit hot and shaky, but I didn't faint. When it was finished I thought it was good, I said to myself that I want to do this again...

A Christingle is an orange which has a red ribbon round it and currants and sultanas on a cocktail stick in the orange, with a candle in the middle. We lit the candle and held it when we sang. It was a great experience and good fun...

First of all we had Christmas hymns. Then we went out to get changed, and get our Christingles lit. Then we walked in like angels down the middle of the hall...
