| My Millennium: What Year 6 did on New Year's Eve... 
Thomas D Things were a bit weird. I went to my aunt's flat with my mum nan, grandad and Ben the dog. We didn't do much until about 7pm, when my cousin Vicky put a little bit of make-up on me and herself as she was going to a party but coming back before 12. When midnight came we blew all our poppers, which was a bit noisy. After we calmed down we went outside to light our sparklers. We went inside and Vicky put the streamers all round her neck, and she looked a bit silly. Then we went to a friend's party for about 10 minutes, then we went to bed... Louise I went up to London to see the fireworks, it was a great experience. I saw the London Eye open on the TV but it would not work... Stuart I tried a small glass of champagne. When the clock struck midnight we popper party poppers and sprayed Silly String over everyone. Then we went out in the garden and watched fireworks. We had a look at what was happening in London on the TV, when the fireworks went down the Thames but they stopped halfway... Nicky P I had some friends over for a party. We saw all the fireworks go off on TV. I drank some champagne. At midnight we all shouted out 'Happy New Year'... Daniel R I went to Florida over Christmas and New Year. We went round our friend's house for a party and watched all the other countries on TV and saw a few fireworks from Disneyworld. We had lots of food and champagne and then we had to go outside because it was warm. We sang 'Auld Lang Syne'... Nicola A I went to see my family and we had a large party. A lot of people turned up. We had fireworks and so did everyone else in the street. The next day I watched the fireworks from London on TV... Danny B 
Lillo I was watching TV looking at how other countries would celebrate in different ways. Later I went to a party and nearly stayed up all night. I accidentally drank some white wine, which tasted horrible... Kalenga I was sort of excited. Me and my brother were wrapping up our niece's birthday presents because it was her birthday next day. On New Year's Day I felt weird because nearly everywhere I went , all the shops were shut, and it was a Saturday when I normally get my pocket money. I went over to my nan and grandad's house for the weekend and she had taken all her Christmas decorations down and it looked really bare... Stephanie We had a big party and lots of champagne (I only had a little bit!). It was a great night, we played lots of music and games. At midnight we played 'Auld Lang Syne' and went outside and popped all our party poppers. The party lasted until 4am and some of the guests stayed at our house. The next day we had another party... Vicky My family and 11 others went to the Embankment to see the fireworks. They were really good. We were going to see the 'River of Fire' but that didn't work, and the Concorde was going to fly at 1500 feet, but it didn't come due to the weather. We got back to Kenton at 2am to go to another two parties and it was 3.30 when we got home. Then we watched what happened on TV. All in all it was the best day I've ever had... Dhiren 
Dhiren I stayed home and watched the things that were happening on TV. I stayed up late. When it was midnight we all popped the balloons that were on the wall. We watched the fireworks on the TV then I went upstairs to play with my Christmas presents... Simone I was in Ireland. I made some millennium candles with the candle making set my uncle gave me for Christmas. My 5 were smaller than the others, but we had 7. We lit them and they burnt until midnight, then we blew them out. We had a big party and had lots of balloons on the floor. We took lots of photos, and I watched a concert on TV. The next day we had a special dinner with turkey, stuffing and crackers... Lydia I sprayed my hair red, gold and silver. Me and my mum and dad went over the road to a party. I danced and had a Bacardi Breezer. We had a quiz, and my team won by a point. We had food, and had the countdown to midnight. We pulled lots of poppers and sprayed lots of silly string. We went home at 8am... Lillo I went up to London on the motorbike with my dad at 3pm. We saw the London Eye going round, and the Alabama Three playing live. There was a really big funfair down the road, but it was packed. We came back at 8.30pm and went to a party. At midnight we popped loads of poppers and threw streamers, and had fireworks in the back garden. We got home at three in the morning.... Florence 
Florence We went to my mum and dad's friends, it was excellent. We sated up until 2am and drank two types of champagne. I danced with my dad and his friend Andy... Stefi We went to my uncle's. When we turned up, my cousin just grabbed me and pulled me upstairs to play on his Nintendo. We had dinner of chicken nuggets, which were horrible. Then we sang along with songs and did the actions. At midnight my uncle jumped in the air and knocked the TV over, but it didn't break. For the rest of the night we just sat on the sofa or played on the computer. Then we played musical chairs and chess. Then we told some jokes and my uncle picked up my cousin, but when he put him down he was sick over my uncle. Then we went back home... Ryan I went round my friend's house with loads of others. They had converted their garage into a play area, they had a football table and a playstation. I won the playstation football game. We wee all dancing to loud music, and had a dance competition... Billy I was on holiday at Pontins. Just before midnight I pressed a button on my teddy, it was saying a countdown to midnight. Then everyone in the clubhouse danced to 1960's music on the dancefloor. By the time we got back to our apartment it was 5.30am... Charlotte I went to a party, it took us two hours to get there, but not many were coming because they were ill. We all watched the countdown to the millennium on TV, then we popped our party poppers and sang 'Auld Lang Syne'. We went home at 3am and I fell asleep in the car... Thomas 
Stephanie Richard came and brought his stuff round to sleep over. Lots of other people came. At 9pm we went to my room to watch wrestling, and at 11.30 we went downstairs to watch more wrestling. We lit some sparklers and had something to eat. We celebrated the Millennium and went upstairs to watch TV, then we went to sleep at 2.30am. I thought the Millennium would be different but it was the same as every year, I don't know what the fuss was about... Bulent I stayed home. When the clock struck midnight me and my brothers went outside and watched fireworks, then I pulled lots of party poppers. We went indoors and listened to music, 'Millennium' and 'Final Countdown'. We were shouting 'Happy New Year' out the window, then played on the playstation... Donna |
