| Athletics The District Sports is an athletics competition between all the primary and junior schools in our area, held one evening after school. It is usually held at Hayes Stadium. 
1997 There was a proper running track and a grandstand and everything. It was raining all day and we did not know if it would be on. When we got there it was still raining but it stopped just as it was due to start at 4.30. My sister was doing the high jump and the sprint relay. We didn't really get wet because it was just spitting. We did not win though. Jenni (Y4) I was in the 1997 District Sports. I was in two races, the relay and the sprint. I came 5th out of 8 people in both races. It was raining hard and there were a lot of puddles everywhere! It was very cold. In the relay someone from another school dropped the baton and when she finished the race she was crying. I felt sorry for her. Helen (Y6) 
1998 When we got to the District Sports everyone was there and we were all very nervous. Mrs Lomax was telling us how we had to do it. We came first in some of the races. Overall we came third from the big schools and we were pleased. Nishma (Y6)  More photos of the 1998 District Sports
