Osmington Bay
19th - 23rd April 1999 The Camp
We had to go to bed at 9.30 and we had to have lights out at 9.45.
On the first night we got to sleep about 12.00. It was quite hard
to get to sleep. In the morning we had to be up at 7.15 but we
were up before that. On one night I told Stephi and Lydia a ghost
story. When I was half way through Stephi was really frightened and
asked me to stop, and she asked me and Lydia to tell her a calming
story. So Lydia told her a cute bunny rabbit story, but that did not
calm her down, so eventually we ended up doing a quiz. The chalet
was very good, we had a bunk bed and a single bed. In the bathroom
we had a toilet, a bath and a sink. We had three drawers and a
television. We had one set of keys which one of the people in
the chalet had to be responsible for. Lydia was the person who
had to look after the keys. On the first day we had to make our
duvets and pillows. Nearly all of the chalets looked the same at
Osmington Bay. In our chalet we had a points sheet which your team
leader had to put points up for how tidy your room was and how
determined you were and the effort you put into the activities that you did.

The food was OK but it could have been better. We had lots of choices.
You could have a hot meal, or a salad, or both. For breakfast we
could have a hot meal or cereal. For lunch we had salad or a hot meal.
Dinner had its own soup, hot meal and salad. Most people had a hot meal.
The drinks were great, there was orange, tea or coffee.
We had to meet outside in our group lines at 8.00 for breakfast, 1.00 for lunch
and 6.00 for dinner. Alexis, our school leader, met us
every mealtime, so thank you Alexis.

The Dinner Hall was a big place were you ate your food. You went round a
track and got your cutlery. You started going round the track and there
were two stop signs on the ground. You got to the kitchen. You told
the cook what you would like, then the cook gave it you. You moved
down and you got to the desserts. Then you went to the table that
had your school name on it. There were some drinks on your table too.
There were some hot drinks in the corner. I had a fab time.
