Class Visits:
Year 5 visit to Iver Water Treatment Works

On Thursday 5th June our class visited the waterworks and went on a nature trail. The coach driver was very funny. When we arrived at the waterworks we were split into groups. Each group had a guide who showed us round. We were shown how the water was cleaned. We tasted the water and smelled it. We were taken to a place underground that smelled a lot. We also visited the control room. In the control room we saw the computers. Our guide told us that sometimes fish got stuck in the pipes. After we had been shown around we got a leaflet. It told us about the waterworks and told us what they did there. We left the waterworks and drove to Denham Country Park. When we arrived at the park we all sat at a picnic table and had lunch. Someone was sick. When we had all finished we played a game called fish, chips and peas. Soon we set off on our nature trail. We all had to go into our groups and a leaflet was handed out. We had lots of different things to find. We had to hug a tree and see what it felt like. We also saw a heron but someone scared it away. When the trail was over we all met at the car park. We jumped on the coach and were ready to go back to school. Our coach driver called us funny names. We had a great day.
